Velocity Corvette Year End BBQ

Once again we were challenged by the weather the day of the BBQ, but as usual we didn’t let a little rain stop us from having a good time.

Not only did we see some new faces and make some new friends but the weather eventually cleared up allowing us to check out the cars and take some pictures. John Allen came out to showcase his black C6 which was a treat for those who hadn’t seen it before.

We had such a great time hanging out with everyone that we stayed well after the sun went down. Thanks to everyone for coming out and making the BBQ a great way to end the year.

The rain pours, the wind blows, but the BBQ burns on

Although the weather didn’t look like it was going to cooperate and I-10 was closed on the day of the BBQ, we thank everyone who decided to come out and enjoy the festivities. Lucky for us the grill master prevailed and lunch was still served.

We were impressed with John Allen’s new painted hood liner and fuel rail covers on his black C6. The artwork looks sharp and we all agreed that the colors show well on the car.

We fully expect John will be adding some more trophies to his collection at the upcoming Fall COCH, SHCC, and NAACC Corvette car shows. Special thanks to Dave and Patrick from PD Auto Concepts for their support.

Happy First Birthday VCC

It was a fun filled event this past Saturday as we celebrated the Corvette and our First Anniversary at Track 21. Track 21 offers three state of the art tracks, but on that particular day Track 21 combined the Indy and F1 tracks to form the much larger Supertrack, an advanced track over 1350 feet long.

The competition was stiff as everyone tried to come out with the best time and have bragging rights. This was my first time in a kart and things got much better after my fist spinout (with many to follow). Personally, I didn’t have high hopes for placing at the top and just wanted to focus on my driving and letting others pass. In between racing we took a brake to have some cake and refreshments to boost our sugar levels. After our stomachs were full, the trash talking quickly resumed as the drivers prepared for the next race.

Congratulations to Mike for placing first, and a shout out to Tony for being the only racer to loose a wheel that day. Special thanks to everyone working at Track 21 on Saturday!

VCC BBQ kicks off 2007 Event Calendar

The VCC BBQ on March 10th was the first in 2007, and what a way to start out the year! As expected, we had a great group of cars to look at, many of which started some good conversations.

We also got to meet some new faces as well. Between the great cars, the tasty BBQ, and the good company it’s easy to say that a great time was had by all.

VCC places first in Lonestar Motorsports Park Corvette Car Show

It was a cold clear day in Sealy for the Lonestar Motorsports Park Corvette/Chevy Shootout and Car Show. There was a good turn-out of late model Corvettes, but the wind and cold made it hard for those who showed up in short sleeves to stay all day.

Congratulations to Jerry and Tony who were the winners of the Corvette car show! Jerry took first place with his black 2000 C5 coupe, and Tony took second with his white 1999 FRC.
