ZR1 is a great name for the Blue Devil. Underpinned by a supercharged V8, the ancillary ZR1 Corvette is impressively insane. The waived ZR1 corvette is 625 bhp right out of the box. The ZR1 Corvette was designed after GM chairman Rick Wagoner challenged GM engineers to build the ultimate Corvette. GM executives warn that the new Corvette ZR1 may be the last in a long tradition of Detroit performance cars that will soon be endangered by the new federal fuel economy law along with limits on carbon dioxide emissions. The new ZR1 is as much a leap over the base Corvette as the old ZR1 was back in 1990, and will have exotic technology to make it the new "King of the Hill".
