What a crock. As much as these cars cost they should come with the "very special tire relearning tool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just another way to get your money. With my Impala all I had to do was use a program that was way too simple. and didn't cost a dime.

Rhon,

Earlier post said "February 12, 2009 at 1:02 pm #
Any magnet will work on C5-style sensors. C6 sensors require a radio signal. Programmers I’ve seen run for $150 and up." but magnt worked on your2005.

I have unsucessfully tried speaker magnets and a dial indicator magnetic base on 2 wheels. Cannot get the horn to beep in C6 learn mode (Acc On,press lock & unlock buttos together and wait for horn to beep). Can C6 sensors be activated with a magnet or just some early 2005's??? My early 2005 has some C5 options as in Millenium yellow color and 4 speed automatic!

Is there any more cost effective alternative than to buy a $150 programming tool for C6's??

I just bought an excellent C4 and changed tires on the existing 17-inch aftermarket rims. Ever since I cannot get the tire pressure sensor light to go out or stay off. In speaking to tire company they say these sensors are specific to location on car. We used a large magnet on first day, but light came back on next day.
Any help is great.
Also, can these older units be replaced with some aftermarket kits to update to newer TPS

Yes. It's time to replace the sensor. MTBF is 10 years. If the TPMS is that important to you to be functioning perfectly, might as well replace all at the same time.

My 2001 Vette is giving me an "XXX" presure readout on the right front. Is this an indication that the sensor on the wheel has failed? I also understand the batteries are only good for about 10 years, then you need to replace the sensors. Is this true?
